May 23rd 2012

Today there was a few things going on in school. Now that we're coming to the end of another school year, it's that time of year again, In House Awards. I don't really care about them to be honest because I never get one so I wasn't surprised to find that I didn't get one this year. So there was the awards and then the plaques were given to Bebhinn Cullen and Saidhbh Houlihan for Music and Art. Everybody clapped and cheered as Bebhinn received the plaque because she is an amazing drummer and plays the drums at the school services like at Christmas and End of School services. I remember the last Christmas service, there was people singing "Do they know it's Christmas?" by Band Aid and Bebhinn was playing the drums and it made everybody stand up to see who was playing them.

I've known Bebhinn for over 12 years and for as long as I can remember she has been playing the drums. I remember being in her house once and the drums were so loud I was wondering did her neighbours complain, but she's really good on them maybe that's why they didn't complain.

I had my Spanish oral today and I was really nervous because I wasn't really familiar with what I was being asked on. We were being tested on our Role plays and I had spent too much time looking at the 1st one which was the easiest and I was hoping that she would ask me about that one. To my relief she did ask me that one, I was pleased because I aced it :L Ms. Farrell  told me that I was really good at the Role Plays and that I was getting full marks for it but she did say that I needed to be careful with my conversation about my family and my house. I took that on board and was pleased when it was over.

I was in Irish and I was studying my Sraith Pictiúir and I thought I didn't have to do my Irish oral until Thursday or Friday because on the attendance sheet, my name is near to the bottom so I thought there was loads of people before me until MS. O'Connell called my name. I looked at her confused and then she hand signaled me to come up to her desk. I was scared because I honestly did not know this at all. The worst part was that we had a choice out 3 pages and there was only 1 easy one and I had to pick the hardest one didn't I. She gave me a minute to look at the sheet, like that would help me.
I got through it anyway and she said I had average skills of talking in Irish, I was happy with myself because I don't like Irish at all. It's not that I don't like it I just think it is so hard to learn.
