April 26th 2012

Today all of the 5th years were going to NUI Maynooth College. We got our tickets on the 25th off Mr Corcoran and I was going to a lecture at 7:30 on Beauty Care and another one at 8:30 on Hairdressing. Me and my friends had planned that we all get the bus to Maynooth so that's what we did. After school at about 5:45 I met up with Amanda and Rachel at the back entrance of Vanessa Lawns and then we started walking down towards the village and when we were in St. Patrick's Park, it was starting to rain, lucky that we had umbrellas but I remember that I was wearing a skirt and tights so we started walking a bit faster and then just when we were coming onto the Main Street, the rain was really bad and the bus was right there so we all ran towards it and thank god there was people there. Out of nowhere Kristen met up with us and the four of us got on the bus and the fare was 2Euro and we were all why is it not 1:15Euro and then the bus driver said it was the 67X so that's why it was dearer. Alex then got on the bus at ALDI and then 5 of us were off to Maynooth. Kellie, Louise and Roisin were also on the bus.

We got off the bus at the Glenroyal Hotel and the rain was still pouring down and so we started walking to the village and went left and then up past Manor Mills and into the College Campus. We didn't know where we were going and Mr. Corcoran said there would be a big sign and that you couldn't miss it, there was no big sign so I asked some guy who looked like he was a student were was the main entrance and he nicely pointed the way and then we went in and we saw Mr. Corcoran walking out of another door so we rain after him, please to be in the right place. Turns out we went in the back door of the John Hume building and the "big sign" was on the main entrance of the building. The sign was a list of the lectures on and the room they were in, I scrolled my eyes up and down both side of the list but I couldn't find beauty care anywhere, I asked Mr. Corcoran and he went off and asked someone and then when he came back he told me that the lecture had been cancelled. So he said just go to any other lecture so Amanda told me to go to Media and Communication, so in JHL3 there was me, Amanda and Kristen. It was good and all but I found it was a little bit boring to be honest, that went on for about 45-50 minutes and then we had like 10 minutes to get to our next lecture. Amanda and Kristen were in the same room for their next lecture whereas I was upstairs somewhere so I went upstairs and asked a woman who obviously works at the college and she pointed a woman out to me that was giving the talk so I followed her.

The room we were in was a small room and there was only 6 of us in the room including a teacher and the woman giving the talk. Her name was Orla and she was so nice and started talking about her experience and how after 11 years she is still learning and she part-owns the "Black Angel" Hair salon and she pointed out that the best college to go to was Crumlin. I found the talk really interesting and helpful and when it was over, I put my copy back in my bag and I was walking out and she started asking me questions like have I ever worked in a salon before, and we chatted for ages and she gave me a few tips.

I then met up with Brian after he finished his lecture but the others were still in theirs so we had to wait or them, we planned to go to McDonald's afterwards, so we all set off from the campus but when we got like 2 minutes away we lost Amanda and Rachel, so we had to wait for her to meet us at Manor Mills. Alex and Rachel were collected by their parents so it was just me, Brian, Amanda and Kristen so we all went through the village and we met Brian's mam; Karen Herdman, she goes to college in Maynooth so she went a  bar afterwards. We finally got to McDonald's at about 9:50 and there was loads of people queuing. I got a large chicken nugget meal and Amanda was stealing most of it. I had to be home at 10:30 so we had to hurry up and walk fast to the bus stop which was on the other side of the village. Praying we didn't miss the last bus, we saw one pulling out of the bus station and we all started running screaming STOP!! The bus was out of service though and my dad was calling me but I kept missing him, after about 5 minutes a bus came. That was grand we were on the bus and my dad called me and I told him and he was like okay as long as your with Amanda. When we got back to Celbridge, we waited for Kristen to get collected by her mam, then Brian went home and me and Amanda went home. I got home at about 11:30 so I just went to  bed. 

April 25th 2012

OMG, Today was a mad day. It's April now and we are having weather as if it's December, it's so cold and it's raining and gale force winds are outside. I woke up this morning afraid to get out of the bed because it was too cold, so i wore a pair of pyjamas underneath my uniform :P When I got to school I went to where I usually sit in the mornings and did my English homework, seeing as it was a Wednesday I didn't have a lot of homework to do. Wednesday is the day where we don't really do much because I don't have any of my option subjects on Wednesday like Geography, Home Ecc and Biology. Even though I start school at 9:05, my dad drives me to school at like 8:10 on his way to work. I've done this since 2nd year because I find it's good because if I have homework to finish off or something. So I did my English homework and my friends from 2nd year arrived and sat down for a chat, they all arrive at different times, so if I'm telling someone a story, another girl arrives so I've to start all over again. So anyway at about 8:20 Ellen Brazil cam in first and we had a little chat and I was telling her about me going to Grad Night on the 10th or May (2 weeks away). I showed her a picture on my phone of a dress in New Look that I am going to get this weekend. She said it was beautiful and said that it would look lovely on me.

The dress is so pretty; it's a strapless black boob tube mini dress. For Grad Night I didn't want to wear something too flashy so when I saw this on the New Look website, I thought it would go great with my purple heels, because black goes with anything.

Grad Night is going to be crazy and I cannot wait, in school everyone is talking about it and asking who's wearing what and what's their hair going to be like. Even though it's 2 weeks away there is still a lot to be done like I have to get the dress this weekend, I have my heels, I don't know how to wear my hair yet, I don't know who I am getting ready with and I need tan!

Usually things like this, I always end up getting things right in the end so hopefully I will look really nice and my tan is not streaky and I just hope I have fun.

Anyway the day went by very smoothly as does Wednesday in my school. I had Careers first class so my teacher, Mr Corcoran was telling everyone in my class when our mock interviews will be. Mine as far as I know will be on Wednesday 16th of May 2012 and the topic I picked was Hairdressing, so now he's like going to tell us what to do, what to say etc. Then I had Drama and that's usually so funny because our Drama teacher, Ms McDonald is so dramatic and funny. My friend Amanda and me would be sitting at the back of the class just wetting ourselves laughing. Today we did a drama which was like a sequel to Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It was really funny and I think Eve Connolly was the best out of the class, she played Veruca Salt and she was just so in character and funny.
